In 2026, Hepro will establish operations in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and the UK. The first step is Sweden, where Zafe Care Systems will become Hepro Care AB and serve as Hepro’s operational unit in the country. The goal is to make proven Norwegian welfare technology available to more patients, relatives and healthcare professionals across Europe.

Establishing Hepro Care in Sweden first

Hepro, one of Norway’s leading providers of assistive devices and digital health technology, is taking the next step in its international growth by establishing operations in Sweden, the UK, Denmark and Finland.

The first establishment will take place in Sweden, where Zafe Care Systems – which, like Hepro, is part of the Addlife AB group – will change its name to Hepro Care AB and become Hepro’s operational unit in Sweden. Zafe Care Systems currently has 19 employees and a turnover of 51 MSEK (in 2025).

Next steps: UK, Denmark and Finland

As in Sweden, the plan is to establish separate companies in each country under the common Hepro Care brand. During the year, Hepro will establish Hepro Care UK, Hepro Care Denmark and Hepro Care Finland which – like Hepro AS – will be wholly owned by Addlife AB and responsible for their respective national markets. The expansion marks a new phase for Hepro, building local presence in Europe while strengthening group and support functions in Norway.

This step will strengthen the company’s position in a rapidly growing digital health technology market.

We are expanding to export well-proven Norwegian technology to a greater extent – the first step is Sweden and the UK. Healthcare systems in the Nordics and in England face many of the same demographic challenges as in Norway, with an ageing population and the need for more sustainable health and care services. This is where Hepro can contribute with concrete, proven solutions,

says Geir Tore Jakobsen, CEO of Hepro.

Extensive experience in helping people

Since its founding in 1987, Hepro has built its business around developing assistive devices and solutions that increase safety, independence and quality of life for people with different needs. The company has extensive experience from close collaboration with both public and private stakeholders in the health and care sector, and over several decades has delivered products and solutions that are used every day by end users, relatives and professionals.

“Our core is about helping people in their everyday lives. We combine technology with practical experience from the assistive technology field. This gives us a strong starting point as we now scale our efforts across more countries,” says Jakobsen.

Digital health technology at the core: Hepro Response

Initially, the international expansion will put particular emphasis on Hepro’s digital health technology solutions, including the Hepro Response platform, medication support, remote home monitoring and digital supervision – in addition to personal safety alarms and alerting solutions. Hepro Response is a digital health technology platform that brings together multiple digital health technology solutions in one seamless service – developed for institutions, assisted living facilities and people living at home.

We see a strong need for safe, scalable and flexible digital health technology, both in institutions and in home care services. Our solutions have been developed and tested in Norway over many years, in close dialogue with users and professional environments. We are now bringing this experience into other markets,

says Jakobsen.

Recruiting Country Managers and strengthening group functions in Norway

The establishment in new countries also has a clear recruitment dimension. Hepro aims to attract strong local talent, both in sales and business development towards the healthcare sector, and with clinical expertise. Hepro will immediately start recruiting Country Managers in the new markets.

Organisationally, the Hepro companies will be grouped together, and Geir Tore Jakobsen will take on the role of Group CEO for the Hepro Group. Each country will be led by its own Country Manager, responsible for local operations and reporting to the Group CEO.

At the same time, the administration in Norway will be strengthened with several group functions, including a Head of Group HR and a Group Business Development function, as well as, over time, a dedicated Country Manager for Norway.

“To succeed in other countries, we need to be present with people who know the local healthcare systems from the inside. We will therefore recruit people with experience from sales, business development and clinical work within health and care services. Our ambition is to build a strong, interdisciplinary environment that can help shape the future of care technology – in close collaboration with Swedish, British, Danish and Finnish stakeholders,” says Jakobsen.
